👋 Hey There,

I’m Pat. In late 2020 I started the travel TikTok account Travel With Pat (previously Travel Hack Pat, and now PointsPat – but that’s a story for a different time) this is where I help people unravel the mysteries of loyalty programs, uncover hidden travel redemptions, and score amazing travel deals along the way whether it’s a cash ticket, or a points ticket.

Over the years I’ve been fortunate to amass 400,000+ followers across social media with over 200 million views across the globe.

Now, here’s the exciting news: I’ve started a new chapter – the PointsPat blog, your guide to all things travel. Think of it as your passport to unlocking amazing adventures and really diving more into the world of points, miles, and all things travel.

While continuing to make content on social media will be a large priority, PointsPat will be your go-to source for in-depth travel tips and expert advice on our blog. Or maybe you are a business or someone looking for personalized expert advice on navigating the complexities of travel rewards, or perhaps you’ve spent a ton of time trying to find the perfect award itinerary and just want someone else to help out.

PointsPat is your one stop shop for any of the above, so whether you’re looking for the best credit card recommendations, travel guides, and more… PointsPat is here to show you all of the fun things you can do with points and miles to help elevate your travel and maximize your miles.

More about Pat's Journey -

The first time I left the country was when I was 16 years on a mission trip to Guatemala. It was in Guatemala that really sparked my love for seeing the world, the country is beautiful. Seeing different cultures is one of the most eye opening experiences that no book or class can teach you.

Since I went to Guatemala at 16 years old, I’m now 27 and have visited almost 40 countries. I took my first solo trip as a “backpacker” in college when I visited Japan and South Korea for the first time. I was a bit naive here and stayed only in hotels and never joined any group activities, so it was a bit lonely, and probably my least favorite solo trip.

In late 2019, I booked the trip of a lifetime that I didn’t end up completing. My plan was to fly almost exclusively in business class around the world using points and miles during Thanksgiving week.. The itinerary included flying from Denver to London, Prague, Cape Town, Doha, Bangkok, Tokyo, and back to Denver. Sounds fun, right?

I had the whole trip basically booked out and I did take the Denver to London, and then London to Prague route, but when I landed in Prague, this is where I decided to just wing the rest of it.

I cancelled the rest of my trip, and had the trip of a lifetime, meeting new friends from all over the world at the “dreaded hostels” which actually became one of my favorite places to stay, but now that I’m a bit older, I don’t really stay at them as much (or at least book a private room when I do)

Since that solo trip that changed everything, I’ve taken trips all over the world, sometimes exclusively on points and miles. Because of points and miles, I’ve been able to have bucket list experiences, such as flying to Argentina last minute to watch the World Cup Final. Flying in Emirates First Class and taking a shower onboard in their famous shower spa, and even taking a multi-day motorbike tour through the mountains of Vietnam.

It’s not an understatement to say that being able to maximize your points and miles can really change your life and allow you to do things you never dreamed about.
