Capital One Venture Review: Amazing Offer Returns

Capital One Venture Rewards Credit Card

I’m often asked for a list of my favorite travel credit cards that don’t come with an annual fee that costs hundreds of dollars. While I’ve got a few personal favorites, one of these is without a doubt also extremely underrated: the Capital One Venture Rewards Credit Card.

Get A Strong Head Start

With the Capital One Venture Rewards Credit Card, you can currently enjoy $250 to use on Capital One Travel in your first cardholder year, plus 75,000 bonus miles after you spend $4,000 on purchases within the first 3 months from account opening.

That’s equal to $1,000 in travel when redeemed through the Capital One Travel portal, but can go even further when transferring miles to Capital One’s 15+ transfer partners.

It is important not to confuse the Capital One Venture Card with its sibling, the Capital One Venture X Rewards Credit Card. While the Venture X carries a $395 annual fee, the Venture Card has a much more accessible annual fee of $95.

Why This Card is a Personal Favorite

For starters, it is a card built for simplicity. You earn a flat 2x miles per dollar on every purchase, which means you never have to overcomplicate your strategy or track rotating categories.

Beyond the welcome bonus, here are a few reasons why this card stays in my wallet:

  • Consistent Rewards: You earn 2X miles per dollar on every purchase you make.
  • Additional Travel Earning: When you book through Capital One Travel, you’ll earn 5X miles on hotels, vacation rentals, and rental cars.
  • Speed Through the Airport: You can receive up to a $120 credit for Global Entry or TSA PreCheck.
  • Rental Car Benefits: Cardholders enjoy Hertz Five Star status.
  • Transfer Partners: You have the ability to transfer your miles to 15+ travel partners.
  • Travel-Friendly: This card has no foreign transaction fees, making it a perfect companion for trips abroad.

My Final Take

The Capital One Venture Card is excellent in nearly every way and, in my opinion, significantly underrated

It doesn’t require you to track complex credits or specific spend categories. Most importantly, it grants you access to the same high-value transfer partners of the Capital One Venture X, but at a fraction of the annual cost.
