Arguably the most valuable points in all of points and miles, are Bilt Points.

Bilt Points can transfer to some of the best partners in all of award travel, including Alaska Airlines, World of Hyatt, Japan Airlines (JAL), and more. There is no program out there with as many top tier transfer partners as Bilt.

While the credit cards are extremely popular, did you know you can earn Bilt Points without even holding a Bilt credit card?

How to Earn Bilt Points Without the Bilt Credit Card

Earning Bilt Points without a credit card is actually a lot easier than people realize. The Bilt program is completely free to signup for.

  1. Signup for Bilt for free here.
  2. Lyft: Link your Bilt account and Lyft account.
    • Earn 2x Points on All Lyft Rides: Once you’ve linked your Bilt account, and Lyft account together, you’ll automatically earn 2x Bilt Points per dollar spent on Lyft Rides.
  3. Spend: You’ll be able to earn Bilt Points on select categories in addition to your credit card points when you link your credit cards and debit cards to your Bilt account under the “wallet” tab. Once your cards are linked your Bilt account, you’ll be able to earn Bilt Points on the following:
    • Earn 2x – 3x Points on Bilt Neighborhood Dining: You’ll automatically earn points at over 20,000 participating restaurants across the U.S. this also stacks on top of the points you’re earning with your credit card.
    • Earn 1x – 10x Points on Walgreens Purchases: You’ll earn 100 Bilt Points per prescription refill, 2x Bilt Points per dollar spent on Walgreens branded products, and 1x Bilt Points per dollar spent on all other Walgreens purchases. Again, this is on-top of your credit card rewards.
    • Earn up to 3x Points at Fitness Studios: When you book fitness classes through the Bilt app at Bilt’s partner chains across 1,200+ locations. These include popular chains like Barry’s, CorePower, Pure Barre, Rumble Boxing, and more.
  4. Rent & Mortgage: If you make your housing payment through one of Bilt’s Alliance properties, and you don’t have or use one of the Bilt cards for non-housing purchases, you’ll earn 250 Bilt points per rent or mortgage payment.
  5. Rakuten: Rakuten is a must when you do any online shopping, and instead of earning cash-back, you can select Bilt Points as your payout method once you link your Bilt account with your Rakuten account. Right now $10 in cash-back is equal to 1,000 Bilt Points no matter what Bilt status you have. However beginning later in May, if you don’t hold Bilt Elite Status, $10 in cash-back will only be qual to 500 Bilt Points.

Pat’s Pro Tip: If you’re new to Rakuten and haven’t created a Rakuten account, you can use my referral offer here to get $50 in cashback (5,000 Bilt Points) after spending $50.

Is It Worth the Effort?

Creating a Bilt account, linking your Lyft account to Bilt and then your credit cards and debit cards to your Bilt wallet will take only a few minutes, and nearly everything will then be automatic. Put simply, it’s without a doubt worth setting up, especially given how valuable Bilt Points can be.

My favorite part? It’s the fact that you can stack your credit card points, on top of the points you’re earning automatically with Bilt.

For example if you earn 4x points on dining through one of your credit cards, and you link it to your Bilt wallet, you can then be earning 6x-7x points total (4x credit card points and 2x-3x Bilt Points) per dollar spent on Bilt Neighborhood Dining.

Signing up for Bilt is free, and easy, and 100% worth it.
